In this walkthrough we setup a direct SMB connection from a QNAP NAS to a Synology NAS. You can also use this method to connect to other SMB/FTP/WebDAV devices. GUIDE Connect both devices to each others ethernet ports. Log into QNAP QTS. Download an app called Connect to Cloud Drive. Now in File Station you'll have an option to Remote Mount. Select Create remote mount and choose CIFS/SMB. Inside type in the IP address of the other connected NAS, you can get this by connecting to Synology DiskStation and looking at the IP address of the LAN port in use, and that's it.
